Today, a friend of mine said to me that when you have kids, the minutes last forever and the years go by in the blink of an eye. I love these little tidbits of knowledge that make me say, "Yes of course, why didn't I think of that myself!"
Xavier is going to hit the 7-week mark this Wednesday and it already feels like time is just speeding by. He's still so little but he's already changed so much, eating more, sleeping more, starting to "talk" (okay, he's just cooing, but whatever - he's baby-talking - wink!), making eye contact, recognizing voices, etc. This past week, I've even been getting real smiles from him. He's most smiley in the morning, when it's just me and him, but today I managed to capture it on video so Rodney can see it too.
That said, it is then strange to look at Graeme who's just growing like a weed, talking and reasoning like a big boy, and is turning 4 this September. These first years have just sped by! Then I look at Ethan who is turning 10 in about a week and I freak out at how fast the past 10 years have gone past. I can still remember Ethan and Graeme as newborns so I am reminded to savour every single moment (even the crazy ones) as none of it lasts long enough.
Rodney, if you're reading this (and you better be!), you need to capture all the video I'm taking so that I can post some. And by the way, I love you. :)
